Submitted By Dan Thompson on Saturday, February 9, 2013
Paul Quantrill will be temporarily trading his blue and gold Terriers jersey for Team Canada red and white after being named the Pitching Coach for the upcoming World Baseball Classic. With son Cal stealing all the headlines over this past year, it's time we congratulate Paul on this appointment and wish him and the rest of Canada's National Team the best of luck at next months tournament. This is not the first time Paul has represented his country.

He played in the inaugural WBC in 2006 and was also one of Canada's coaches during the 2009 tournament. Paul has also coached our Junior National Team. Quantrill made his MLB debut in 1992 and went on to strike out 725 batters during his career. He was an MLB All-Star in 2001 and also lead the league in appearances for three consecutive years. Paul was inducted into Canada's Baseball Hall of Fame in 2010. Team Canada will compete in Pool D with Italy, Mexico and Team USA. Game one is Friday March 8th in Phoenix Arizona.
