Jr Terriers Advance To Championship Round
The 17U Terriers are moving on to the championship round in Nashville, TN.

After finishing 2-1 in pool play at the Sandlott Wood World Championships, they await their seeding for Friday's games. Game one on Wednesday was a thrilling game ending in a 7-4 loss in nine innings to the Kalamazoo Maroons. Chris Lazar pitched a complete game allowing just 3 runs through the first 8 innings. Kalamazoo struck for 4 runs in the top of the ninth to top the Terriers. Game two saw the Terriers take a commanding 8-2 lead into the seventh inning before giving up 5 runs to the Cincinatti Stix. Kyle Scobel nailed down the save in the 8-7 final while Tyler Riehl picked up the win. Joe Tevlin had a two run triple while Mason Falbo, Zarley Cina, Konar Smith and Elliott Curtis chipped in with singles. Game three was another extra inning game, this time however, the Terriers previaled 5-1 after scoring 4 runs in the top of the eighth. Scobel got credit for the win after coming on in the eigth inning. Duncan Jakubowski got the start and went 4 stong innings giving up a single run. Matthew Vollmer preserved the tie throwing 3 inninngs. Curtis led the way offensively with two singles and an RBI. Smith and Shane Clarke provided the RBI in the eighth inning to propel the Juniors to victory. The single elimination championship round begins Friday morning.
