Valiquette Spins Gem In Terriers Win

Westfield, IN - The SR Terriers opened the Fall Wood Bat Prospects Tournament in Westfield Indiana with a 2-0 victory over Lexington Elite (KY). RHP Tyler Valiquette got the start and went five outstanding innings while striking out six. He allowed just two hits and did not walk a batter before handing the ball over to Christian Lazar who pitched the sixth. Kyle Scobel came on in the seventh to record the save.

He strike out two. ‎The Terriers scratched out their first run In the top of the fourth inning. Zarley Cina lead the inning off with a single, advanced on a pass ball, went to third on Drew Dickerson's infield single then scored on Konar Smith's RBI sac fly to right. Cina was at it again in the sixth. After another lead off single he advanced on Dickerson's bunt, then eventually scored on Shane Clarke's RBI ground out. The Terriers will face the Indiana Yankees in game two later Saturday afternoon.
