16S Win Pblo Season Finale
The Terriers wrapped up their spring PBLO season with a highly competitive 11-7 victory over the Ontario Royals Sunday night. Lefty Campbell Ellis weaved his way through six hard fought innings to pick up the win. Campbell struck out six before handing the ball off to Aiden Pickering who recorded the games final three outs. Dante Wright scored the Terriers first run in the top of the first after he drew a two out walk, then scored on a Stephen Phillips RBI single.

The lead was short lived however as the Royals scored two of their own in the bottom half of the inning, to take a 2-1 lead. ‎The second inning was wide open and loaded with offense as the Terriers pushed five runs across while the Royals responded with three to make it 6-5 early. The Terriers had loaded the bases, led by a Connor O'Halloran single and walks by Brayden Heleno and Christian Bottero. Scrappy Michael Stremlaw was next in and he delivered an RBI single through the 3-4 hole that scored O'Halloran. Matt Ward was responsible for the next two runs when he crushed a two RBI double to the fence scoring Heleno and Bottero. After Stremlaw scored on John Poirier's RBI sacrifice fly, Ward went to third on Dante Wright's laser up the middle, then crossed on Stephen Phillip's second RBI of the game. Heleno and Stremlaw were‎ at it again in the fifth when Michael slapped a 3-2 pitch through the left side of the infield scoring Brayden, to make it 7-5. Then in the sixth, after drawing a one out walk, John Poirier swiped second base, and raced home when Stephen Phillips counted another RBI with a shot through the left side of the diamond. That would be the games winning run. Insurance and some breathing room for Aiden Pickering came in the top of the seventh when three more runs scored. The key blow was off the bat of Liam Bavington, a two RBI single that he plunked into right field with the bases full. After exams the Terriers hit the road in July with stops in Ann Arbor, Cleveland, Evanston and Toledo. They will close out the summer in London at the 16U PBLO Playoff Championship.
