16U Terriers Open Spring Training With Victory
After a morning practice, the 16u Terriers opened their 2019 spring training trip with a 8-2 win over Triolet Baseball (PQ).

The Terriers offense scored two runs in the first, second, sixth and seventh innings ‎on route to the victory.

Ethan Magloughlin ‎lead the game off with a single and scored on Josh Cote's RBI double that was drilled to left. Cote scored later in the inning on an RBI ground out by Evan Farrell.

In the top of the second Alejandro Leon- Budahazy laced a double to left and crossed on Kawshik Murali's RBI double to the gap in right center field. Murali later scored on a Triolet error to make the score 4-0.

Triolet answered with two runs in their half of the inning but that is all they would muster in this game.

The Terriers added to their lead in the sixth after Julian Russell singled and scored when Matt Brown crushed an RBI triple over the Triolet's center fielders head. He eventually scored on a Murali ground out.

In the seventh Isaac Sinning and Ethan Kane both scored to make it 8-2. Isaac had singled and Ethan doubled. Josh Cote also had a hit in the inning. He had three hits in the contest.

Noah Mitchell was outstanding on the mound in the game's middle innings.  He struck out seven and did not walk a batter. John Filice came on to close out the game, striking out three in his two innings‎ of work.

The 16s will practice again tomorrow then play Extra Innings Baseball (FL) tomorrow night.
