Zachary Saufl Commits To The Vanguard Lions
Submitted By Dan Thompson on Tuesday, April 21, 2020
Congratulations to the Saufl family on Zachary's commitment to the Vanguard University of Southern California. The palm tree-lined campus is located in sunny Costa Mesa, just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean.

Zachary is an imposing physical presence no matter where he is competing on the field. He is a versatile athlete that can pitch, play on both corners and is a power threat every time he steps in the box.
He has a tremendous work ethic and is a great teammate who can always be relied upon to do whatever his coaches ask of him, no matter the situation.
Vanguard University is a private, Christian, comprehensive university of liberal arts and professional studies equipping students for a Spirit-empowered life.
The Lions are part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and primarily compete in the Golden State Athletic Conference.
They have reached the NAIA National Tournament six times and have played in the World Series on two occasions, most recently in 2015.
The Lions opened 2019 with a nine game winning streak on their way to a 31-20 overall record. They were 21-6 in 2020 before the shut-down.
Over 60 Lions have gone on to play professional baseball.
Zachary attends King's Christian Collegiate where he has been on the honor roll and the student council all four years. He has also captained the baseball team for the past two years.
‎Zachary has received the Dean's Academic/Athletic Scholarship at Vanguard University, where he will be studying Education/ Sports Psychology.
Continued success to Zachary on and off the field.
