Terriers Prepare for Fall College Tour
The Ontario Terriers will be heading south of the border this fall to play numerous college programs.

The trip, which takes place from October 7 to 16, is designed to provide increased exposure to college coaches.

Terriers general manager Joe Iannuzzi is excited about what this opportunity will provide the players.

"This fall trip is critical to the development of our athletes both on and off the field as it delivers unique experiences and challenges that each player may not have fully experienced," Iannuzzi said. "The full slate of training and games provides ample opportunity for players to test their mettle through physical talent and mental sturdiness, baseball’s two most important aspects."

The schedule begins on October 7th when the Terriers head to Erie Community College to take on a Kats team that finished with a 43-12-1 record during the 2022 season. They'll then make stops in New York, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland before closing out the slate back in Pennsylvania against Dickinson College.

They'll take on Division I William and Mary at Plumeri Park on Saturday, October 15th.

Getting the players in front of college coaches is the motivation behind the trip. Seeing players in action is critical in the recruitment process.

"It gets players in front of coaches eyes and away from a showcase event," Iannuzzi said. "At the end of the day, college coaches need to see how kids play, carry themselves, their makeup and how adverse situations impact them."

The fall trip is the brainchild of the Terriers management group and coaches that have many decades of baseball experience, Iannuzzi points out. Management wants the players take full advantage of all the experiences that a trip like this has to offer.

"Our hope is that the players can construct a strong positive memory of the experience that reinforces the team aspect of baseball and provides them with enjoyment that can sometimes fall out of the forefront during a grueling summer of training and playing," he said. "It also helps players garner an idea of what to expect when they do go off to college."
