SRs Roll Sevens Clinch Series Sweep
The 18u Terriers had a twin bill with the Ottawa-Nepean Canadians on Saturday and would come away with two victories (2-1, 13-3) for the sweep.

A seven run rally in the sixth inning in game two capped the day for the Terriers, who are now 5-1 in PBLO play.

Ottawa led by a 3-1 score into the sixth when the bats finally came alive with seven runs on seven hits.

Jamal Armstrong got it going with a bunt single, went to second on a wild pitch, then to third when Christian Bottero cranked a single through the five-six hole.

After Jack Iannuzzi walked to load the bases, Daniel Freeman stepped in and drilled a clutch bases clearing three RBI triple to the fence in left center field for a 4-3 Terriers lead.

After Freeman crossed on a pass ball the Terriers tacked on three more runs.

Zach Marriott, who had three hits in the contest, had a hustle double, Noah Mitchell walked and Matt Ward delivered with a bullet RBI single.

After a Dante Wright single, both Mitchell and Ward would cross to make it 8-3.

Dante Wright was at it again in the Terrier's seventh. With Zach Marriott, Noah Mitchell and Matt Ward aboard Dante launched a grand slam to right center field to blow the game wide open.

Brenden McQuinn had scored earlier in the inning, so make the final 13-3 Terriers.

On the mound, Michael Manning worked five innings to get credit for the win. He struck out five.

Jordan Howse pitched the final two innings without an Ottawa threat.

Game one was a much tighter affair.

Zach Marriott was responsible for the Terriers first run as he would rocket a home run over the wall in right for an early 1-0 lead.

Ottawa tied the game in the third off starter Campbell Ellis, but that would be all they could muster off the lefty in this one.

Campbell fired six innings, had eight strike-outs and allowed just two hits.

In the bottom of the sixth the Terriers went ahead 2-1 after Matt Ward ripped a double into the right field corner then scored what would be the winning run off a Dante Wright RBI missile to the gap.

Sam Worthen came on in the seventh to record the save.

The teams complete the weekend series tomorrow at Kings Collegiate in Oakville.
