Versatile Julian Russell is NCAA University Bound
This past week Julian Russell was awarded both academic and athletic scholarships to attend Alderson Broaddus University in West Virginia.

Congratulations to Julian and his family.

Julian has a gritty work ethic and has given his Terrier coaches multiple position options because of his versatility on the infield at third, second and short. He can also be called upon to pitch where he features a mid 80s fast ball off the mound.

He hits for average and is a menace on the base paths ‎both as a table setter and a run scorer.

All this is a tribute to his athleticism, competitiveness and overall above average instincts to play the game.

Home to approximately 1,100 students, Alderson Broaddus University is private and is located in the rolling hills of Philippi, WV. Campus overlooks the picturesque Tygart River Valley.

Known as the "Battlers", AB is a member of the Mountain East Conference, NCAA Division II.

In the past their extensive schedule has taken them to Maryland, South Carolina, Florida, Ohio and throughout West Virginia. The Battlers most notable baseball alumni is Big Leaguer Randy Dobnak.

Julian is a decorated high school athlete. He captained the volleyball team, ran track, garnering two 4x100 gold medals, has 8 years of AAA + AA hockey under his belt and was named Male Athlete of the Year in 2017. He also won his class Public Speaking Award on two occasions, leading him to be studying Education at Alderson Broaddus.

Julian will land on campus in August of 2021. We wish him the best of luck both on and off the field in all his university endeavours.
