Brian Burton Lands Ncaa Division 1 Scholarship
He is a presence in the heart of the Terriers batting order. He Recorded the first RBI in the history of the program. He leads the Terriers in Home Runs. Brian Burton has now taken the next step in His baseball career, committing to Coach Mike MCCrae's Canisius Golden Griffins. Combining average with tremendous power, Brian's bat in the clean up spot has provided the Terriers with critical runs over the past year in clutch situations.

His biggest home run came in a 12 pitch at bat in the Sandlott WS this past summer. With the Terriers trailing 5-1 in game two of the marathon tournament, 2 out and 2 runner's on, Brian worked the count full, then fouled off several tough pitches before he launched a mammoth homer over the Nashville Sounds Stadium left field wall. That was a huge at bat and a huge turning point in the game, as the Terriers went on to win 12-5. Brian consistantly has had that knack of getting it done when the chips are down, and he is the guy any team would want at the plate with the game on the line! His talents are not limited to just offense however, his defensive play at first base is outstanding. He made only 3 errors in 78 games. Not bad for a converted outfielder! Brian joins Terriers alumni Chris Cox and Ian Choy at Canisius. Brian's scholarship is well deserved, as his work ethic and the steady improvement of his play over the past year has gained the respect of his team mates and the coaching staff. Congratulations to Brian and his family. The entire Terriers organization is very proud of you! About Canisius College...
