Burton + Mitchell Continue Torrid Pace, Harley Baffles Quebec
Submitted By Dan Thompson on Friday, July 6, 2007
Brian Burton had 4 RBIs and Brent Mitchell had 3 hits as the Terriers ran their record to 3 and 0 at the Baseball Quebec Challenge, with a 7-2 victory over Team Quebec. Steve Harley threw a complete game, inducing 2 double plays and several weak ground outs. He had the Quebec hitters off balance all day by changing speeds and locating his fast ball. Chad Marshall led the game off with a double and scored on a Brian Burton RBI.

Quebec answered with a run of their own in the bottom half of the inning. With a 2-1 lead, the Terriers big inning came in the top of the fourth, when Marty Chasles walked and advanced on a bunt single by Evan Kipfer. Chad Marshall followed with an infield single, loading the bases. Marty scored on a Jeff Skelhorne-Gross single, setting the stage for clean up hitter Brian Burton. Brian launched a 1-0 pitch to the left centre field gap clearing the bases. Brent Mitchell followed with a single, scoring Burton. 7-1 Terriers. Harley allowed just one more run in the bottom of the 6th,and had a clean bottom of the seventh to preserve the win. Next up, PBLO rivals the Toronto Mets. The Championship game goes Sunday morning at 11:00am.
