Terrier Alumni In The Thick Of Maac Battle

Terrier alumni will have a lot to say about who will take over sole possession of first place in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in NCAA D1 baseball action this Saturday and Sunday. The Canisius Golden Griffins (9-3 in MAAC play + 29-9 overall) will host the Manhatten College Jaspers (9-3 in MAAC play) for top spot in the conference this weekend. The Griffs are laced with Terrier a

lumni, including 2007 MAAC Rookie of the Year, Ian Choy, first baseman, slugger Brian Burton, and right hander Chris Cox. Two ex Terriers get starting duties for this crucial series, lefty Shane Davis on Saturday and lefty Mike Goemans on Sunday. Mike pitched the Terriers to the 18u Sandlott Baseball World Series Championship in the summer of 2006. For the results go to www.gogriffs.com Meanwhile, present day 18u Terriers opened their spring season today in Erie PA, with a double header vs Mercyherst Junior College. The Terriers came away with a pair of victories. 5-4 and 6-5.
