Jeff Hunt And Brandon Dailey Spark Canada To Dramatic Win Over Cuba!
Havana, Cuba The Terriers two Junior National Team players were right in the thick of a Team Canada four run rally in the top of the ninth at historic Estadio Latino Americano Stadium in Havana Cuba Sunday. Trailing 3-1 after eight innings, Wes Darvill from the Langley Blaze, reached first on a shot to center field. He advanced to second on a pass ball, then with one out Brandon Dailey drew a walk off the Cuban closer, setting the stage for Jeff Hunt.

Jeff belted a 1-1 pitch into the right field corner, scoring Wes and Brandon to tie the game, 3-3. Ontario's Andrew Ruck came on to pitch run for Jeff, and scored what would be the winning run on a double to the right center field gap by Alberta's Adam Nebulowich. The Junior Nats added an insurance run, on an RBI by Ontario's Jordan Boston, for a 5-3 lead going into the bottom of the ninth. The Cubans' leadoff hitter would reach on a walk, then advance on a fielders choice. Cue the defense, cue Brandon Dailey! Brandon would get the second out on a laser beam line drive, almost doubling the Cuban runner at second base. Dailey then put the Canadian victory on ice, ranging to his left into the hole, and throwing Cuba's last hope out at first base. Brandon also had a stellar day at shortstop on Saturday, when Canada battled the Cubans for 14 innings, eventually falling 1-0. He played all 14 innings, making several spectacular defensive plays, including three double plays. The Junior National Team will play three more games versus the Cuban Junior National Team, before returning home on July 9th.
