6 Run Inning Powers Seniors To Win
Cambridge, ON - The Sr. Terriers evened their Brawl in the Fall Tournament record at one and one with a 9-1 victory over the Royals Saturday afternoon.
Lefty Austin Huibers had the ball for the Terriers, going four innings. He struck out four, and the lone Royals run was unearned.
Speedy centerfielder Christian Fearon got the Terriers out to an early lead when he beat out an infield chopper to third.
He advanced on a wild pitch, and after Brandon Dailey singled, he scored on a Simon Clarke RBI single.
Brian Doran got the six run rally going in inning number two, smoking a ball off the first baseman's shoulder. Catcher Adam Godo followed with a single up the middle, then they both advanced on Shawn Marshall's bunt single. Doran would score on a pass ball, then Orion Katayama reloaded the bases with a walk. Christian Fearon picked up his first RBI as a Terrier with a shot up the middle to make the score 3-0. With one out, Brandon Dailey put the game away, lacing a bullet past the Royals centerfielder, clearing the bases.
The Terriers tacked on two more runs in the fourth with hits from Simon Clarke, Cole Peragine, and a triple by Brian Doran.
Righthander Connor Smith pitched the final three innings, mowing down nine of the ten hitters he faced.
