Terriers 16U Split Opening Set With Mets In Sunny West Palm Beach Florida
Terriers opened their Florida trip with a 6-0 victory. The pitching trio of Barinder Rakkar, Travis Laitar and Bruce Yari kept the Mets offence silent while the Terrier offence was led by Mark Wilush with 2 RBI's and Turner Spears, Mike Morley, Zach Choy and Jacob Zilli all chipping in with 1 RBI a piece. Game 2 seen the pitching efforts of Brock Beirness, Choy and Mitchell Kay lost from the early season rust of the Terriers defense.

Loder, Spears, Wilush, Yari, Paul Howarth and Landon McLaren all chipped in with singles. In game 3 Zilli led the way with 2 hits in a 5-1 losing effort. Loder, Rakkar and Laitar chipped in with the other singles which wasn't enough to support the efforts of the trio of pitchers Morley, Spears and Kaleb Leff who went to the mound. An exciting and well played game 4 which the Terriers won 2-1 was highlighted by a clutch base hit by underager Pat Coughlin who drove in Morley and Howarth in the bottom of the sixth to take a 2-1 lead. The inning got started by the lead off pinch hit triple of Morley and followed up by a single by Howarth. An outstanding pitching effort by Wilush, Yari and Laitar held the Mets offense to 1 run and kept them off the base paths the whole game. The 16U Terriers will practice today at the incredible Florida Atlantic University and will be back in action Wednesday against PT Baseball.
