Mountford's Grand Slam Ignites Terriers
Windsor, Ontario The SR Terriers swept a double header from the Windsor Selects Saturday at Mic Mac Park in Windsor. In game one the Terriers cruised to an 11-4 victory. Game two was much closer, a hard fought 2-1 win. In the opener, catcher Jordon Mountford led the charge with a first inning grand slam home run. Blair Gignac, Cole Peragine and Brandon Dailey all singled, setting the stage for Jordon, who belted a 3-1 pitch over the wall in right field.

The early rally continued as the Terriers tacked on three more runs for a 7-0 first inning lead. Graham Tebbit and Christian Fearon also had hits in the top of the first. Billy Ralston got the start on the mound and put in four solid innings of work in very tough weather conditions. Billy struck out five and walked two through the rain, sleet and 80km/hr winds. Right hander Ted Hall pitched the final three innings. He struck out three and allowed just one hit. Cole Peragine had four hits and scored two runs in the win. In game two, Roberto Suppa would go the distance with a complete game, ninety pitch effort. Roberto dominated the entire Windsor lineup, allowing just three hits while striking out ten. No doubt, his best career outing as a Terrier! Once again Blair Gignac got the Terriers offense going with a lead off double to the right center field gap. Red hot Cole Peragine also singled, scoring Blair for an early 1-0 lead. Jordon Mountford would also cross the plate for a 2-0 lead. The two runs would be all the Terriers would need in this one as battery mates Suppa and Adam Godo would take it the rest of the way. Adam also had two hits in this one. Connor Smith and Austin Huibers will start games three and four of the series on Sunday.
