Sr. Terriers Win Another Summer Tournament!!!
Submitted By Dan Thompson on Saturday, July 24, 2010
After two days and nights of torrential rain, the Terriers finally had some baseball weather and they got down to business. Lucas Scocchia had the ball in semi final and cruised to a three hit 8-0 complete game shut out. In the Final game, the Terriers faced the feisty CNY Thunder (Host team). In the top half of the first the Terriers strike for one run after a lead off double by Christian Fearon.

Single and fielders choice follow to make the score 1-0. The Thunder respond with 2 runs in the bottom of the first, but that was all they would score as Matt Betts proceeded to scatter 5 hits throughout the rest of the game, striking out 5 along the way. Terriers would tie the game in the 3rd inning with a perfectly executed double steal. Terriers would take the lead in top of 5th with a sacrifice fly by Simon Clarke scoring Brian Doran. The Terriers added an insurance run in the 7th with aggressive base running by Mattingly Romanin. The Thunder would threaten in the 7th with two runners in scoring position, but Betts would induce a ground ball to close out the win !! Terriers will travel next week to New Jersey for the East Coast World Series.
