Srs Will Wrap Up Incredible Year In New Jersey This Week!
Submitted By Dan Thompson on Sunday, August 1, 2010
The SR Terriers will play their final tournament of another very successfull year this coming week in Flemington, NJ. This group of young men was the youngest SR Terrier team in the program's history. Only six players graduate, of which all will be off to play college baseball. (Billy Ralston, Matt Betts, Graham Tebbit, Connor Smith, Anthony Vacca and Brandon Dailey). In addition, Connor and Brandon were both drafted this past June.

Brandon also played on Canada's Junior National Team. Although a young group, the 2009/10 SRs have compiled an overall record of 67-22 (.753). Highlights from last fall include winning the Brawl in the Fall tournament in Guelph, and six straight wins at the University of West Alabama. After a six and four trip to Florida versus college competition over March break, the Terriers travelled to Kamloops for eight games against college teams and teams from BCs PremierLeague. Following their trip out west, PBLO play began in May and continued through June. The Terriers put together an impressive 28-10 record in the PBLO. The summer schedule, leading up to this weeks Blue Chip Prospects World Series has been successful too, with the Terriers winning two of the three tournaments they have participated in. Brian Doran, Roberto Suppa, Blair Gignac, Christian Fearon, Mattingly Romanin, Cole Peragine, Jordon Mountford and Lucas Scocchia have all been invited to the Ontario Youth Team's final camp next week. The players selected from this tryout camp will represent Ontario at the Canada Cup National Championship later this month in Kindersley Saskatchewan.
