16U Terriers Split With Oakville
After a rain out on Saturday afternoon, the 16U Terriers took to the field for a double header against the Oakville Royals on Sunday in Burlington. Game one went to the Royals as too many walks and defensive errors plagued the 16U Terriers. In game two, defensive errors continued to haunt the Terriers early on allowing the Royals to take a 7-2 lead after 3 innings. The Dogs decided to take their frustration out at the plate and put up 11 runs in the 4th inning.

Brock Beirness lead off with a single. Nick Wideman and Tyler Hardie both walked to load the bases and both would later single in the same inning. Zach Choy and Bruce Yari both ripped 2 RBI doubles with Yari hitting a second double in the same inning. When Logan Stewart singled in a run to tie it up, Wes Siekris walked to put two runners on for Jake Gerovac who crushed a 3 run home run over the left field wall to put the Terriers up 13-7. Beirness started on the mound and threw 3 innings with 6K's while Yari threw the last 4 innings with 2K's to preserve the lead and give the Terriers a 13-9 win.
