Sr's Wrap Up Dream Summer With Third Tournament Championship Title
Rome, NY - The SR Terriers claimed their third tournament title of the summer in convincing fashion with a 12-2 drubbing of Full Count Baseball (NJ) on Saturday night. The Sportzone Invitational Tournament featured teams from all over the eastern seaboard. The Terriers were the only Canadian representative. Congratulations to outgoing senior righthander Aaron Bain (Cuyahoga College) who went the distance in the final.

Aaron is certainly ready to begin his college career in the coming weeks, as is Brian Doran (Maine), David Head (Northeastern Colorado) and Blair Gignac (West Alabama). Brian has been red hot all summer and was 4-5 in the final. David was 2-4 with a two run homer, and Blair chipped in with two hits. The graduating Terriers were not the only ones to contribute however, as Nathan DeSouza was 3-4 with four RBIs. Catcher Steve Jannetta also had two hits. Congratulations to Manager Scott Vandevalk and his coaches Mike Tough and Ed Heather on a tremendous run. This is the fifth tournament championship of the summer for the Terriers program, as the JR team won in Rochester and also claimed the 17u Sandlott World Series title.
