Nine Terriers Selected To Ontario Youth Team
Over 200 players from tryouts that ran in late May, were narrowed down to 40 this past weekend in Oshawa. After two more days of tryouts and games, almost half of the final 20 man roster will be made up of Terriers.
The Ontario Youth Team will represent the province at the Baseball Canada Cup in Moncton NB next week. The Canada Cup is Baseball Canada's most prestigious tournament. Every province will be represented, and will battle for the 17u National Crown.
The event is well attended and also scouted by pro and college teams. Most importantly however, all games are monitored by the Junior National Team coaching staff. At the end of the tournament they will announce the next 30 players that will proudly don the Maple Leaf.
