Jr Terriers Down Syracuse Braves
The JR Terriers executed text book baseball in the top of the seventh on Saturday morning in Rome, NY, pulling out a 4-3 victory over the Syracuse Sportzone Braves.
With the game tied 3-3, centerfielder Jake Osborne lead the top of the seventh off with a double that he laced into the left field corner. It was Jake's third hit of the game. Pat Coughlin was next in, and dropped a perfect sac bunt to move Osborne to third.
Hee Do Kim then smacked the game winning RBI through the five-six hole, scoring Osborne.
Kevin Lucas picked up the win on the mound, weaving his way through five innings of work.
The Terriers had taken an early 2-0 lead in this one after Marcus Dicenzo and Kyle Thalheimer walked and scored on RBIs by Logan Stewart and Matt Beaton. Dicenzo also chipped in with a single later in the fifth.
The back end of the DH goes Saturday afternoon, followed by a DH on Sunday at Ithaca College.
