Srs Rally Late For Victory Over Sportzone Chiefs
After defeating the Syracuse Braves Friday night the SR Terriers took on the Chiefs Saturday in Rome New York. Righthander Brock Beirness got the win with five outstanding innings of work. Brock gave way to lefty Bruce Yari, who pitched the sixth and seventh of this 5-2 Terriers win. Beirness had ten strike outs, allowed just four hits and walked just one. Trailing 2-0 in the top of the sixth, the Terriers struck for three runs to take the lead in this very well played game.

Toby Handley got things going with a one out walk. Zach Choy, TJ Baker, Zack Sardellitti (2RBI) and Jon Palumbo (RBI) all followed with consecutive hits to cap the three run rally. The Terriers tacked on two more runs in their half of the seventh after CJ Fearon singled up the middle, stole second and scored on a Turner Spears single to right. Turner later scored on a Nick Dimpfel RBI double to left. Yari retired the Chiefs quietly in the bottom of the seventh. The Terriers continue their weekend tour of eastern New York on Sunday with a game versus the Binghamton University Bearcats.
