Travis Laitar Commits To Suny At Cortland
Right handed pitcher Travis Laitar has been one of the Terriers top performers over the past two years. He competes hard and can be called upon in any situation to give his team an opportunity at success. Travis is also a top performer in the classroom and will continue his post secondary education at SUNY (State University of New York) at Cortland next fall. He will be pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Athletic Training.

The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education. Cortland University was established in 1868 and sits on 191 rolling acres in upstate New York. It is home to 7,358 students and is a powerhouse in NCAA athletics. The Red Dragons have won twenty-three national championships in eight different sports. In his career as a Terrier,Travis has had several quality outings as a starter and out of the bullpen. He was certainly a very important part of the 17u World Series championship this past summer. In the semi- final game, with the game tied versus the Ohio Wildcats he was handed the ball with the bases loaded and nobody out in the sixth . Travis proceeded to strike out the first batter he faced, then induced a 4-6-3 double play to put a stop to the Wildcat threat. Other highlights include four quality innings pitched versus Riverland CC on March Break. Five innings pitched versus St. Clair College, 3K, 0 earned runs and while in Arizona Travis threw three perfect innings against the always tough Bellaire Texas. He was also named to the All-Academic Team at the Arizona Fall Classic. This is a tremendous accomplishment, as over 100 players tried out. Congratulations to the Laitar family. We wish Travis the best in his upcoming career as a Cortland Red Dragon.
