Junior Jasvir Rakkar (pictured above) hurled 4 innings of scoreless relief to pick up the win for Stony Brook University over the Minnesota Golden Gophers at the Metrodome in the final game of the Dairy Queen Classic.

Rakkar tossed a perfect seventh and pitched around a two-out triple in the eighth to help preserve the lead. UBC’s Tavis Bruce improved his record to 4-0 in four starts this year after allowing just two runs, neither of which were earned, over seven innings of work in a 4-2 win over Corban University. Shortstop Mattingly Romanin had 7 hits on the weekend in Chicago State University’s four game series at the University of Cincinnati. The freshman has started every game at short and bats lead off for the Cougars. Tyler Patzalek collected 5 hits in 5 games for the Maine Black Bears as they wrapped up their two week road trip in Florida.
