His father spent the majority of his career with the Toronto Blue Jays, after he started off with the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies, then moving on to the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, San Diego Padres and the Florida Marlins.
His father threw over 1,200 innings in 14 years in the big leagues, primarily as a relief pitcher.
Cal Quantrill takes after his dad, Paul, in the fact that he is a right-handed hurler and his speciality pitch is the sinker.
