Alum Peragine Named America East Rookie Of The Week
Freshman alumnus Cole Peragine of the Stony Brook University baseball team was honoured when the America East announced its weekly awards on Monday.
Peragine was named the conference Rookie of the Week.
The Seawolves are 24-10 on the season and have won 10 of their last 12 contests. Cole hit .526 last week and drove in eight runs. He has started 33 games at shortstop and is hitting .302 in addition to being third on the team with 22 RBI.
Cole's teammate Tanner Nivins has caught fire of late and has his batting average up to .295 with a .429 slugging percentage. He also has a homer and 19 RBI. Tanner is a junior at Stony Brook and went 3-for-4 with two RBI in a 6-4 victory over Albany on the weekend.
