Rakkar, Nivins And Peragine Reach Ncaa Regional Final
Submitted By Dan Thompson on Sunday, June 3, 2012
After knocking off the Miami Hurricanes (#22) Friday night, then with two more wins over Missouri State and Central Florida the Stony Brook Seawolves find themselves in the NCAA Regional Championship game to be played Monday night in Coral Gables FL. Terrier alumni Jas Rakkar, Tanner Nivins and Cole Peragine have all been a big part of the Seawolves record setting season. Stony Brook now has 49 wins, the most in school history and the most ever by any team from the America East Conference.

They also become the first America East team in history to advance to a NCAA D1 Regional Final. With their season on the line, Jas (6-2) fired six strong innings versus UCF(#15) Sunday night to propel the Seawolves into the winner take all championship game. Cole made several excellent defensive plays at short stop and was 1-4 at the plate. He has a .332 season batting average. Tanner had two RBI (.318) in the 12-5 win. Congratulations guys and good luck the rest of the way.
