Rakkar Drafted By Chicago Cubs
Terriers’ alumnus and current Stony Brook Seawolves’ pitcher Jasvir Rakkar has been drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 26th round of today’s MLB Draft! Jas spent two years with the Terriers where he acquired a scholarship to Stony Brook University. Jas was a weekend starter and pitched in every tournament as a front line guy. He caught the Seawolves coaching staff's eye with his 88 mph fast ball, backed up by a very sharp curve.

Jas currently throws in the low to mid 90s and had a 6-2 record (3.72 ERA) this year with Stony Brook. He allowed just 36 hits in 46 innings pitched. The highlight of his college career came last week when he went 6+ innings for the win, propelling the Seawolves into the Regional Championship game. The Terriers are extremely happy for Jas and his family!
