16U Players Of The Week
CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK Garrett Jewell and Liam Wilson had a week to remember at the Premier Championship in Lubbock, Texas. The pair dominated opponents' pitching, combining for 19 hits in seven games. Jewell contributed with 10 hits including two homeruns - with one of them being a grand slam. His highlight of the tournament came against the North Texas Titans last Friday when he went 5-5 with a grand slam and 8 RBI.

Wilson, meanwhile, has continued to dominate the 16U level, following up his performance in Indianapolis with a .409 batting average in Texas. His 9 hits included 3 home runs in one day. Wilson also contributed to the Terriers semi final run with his stellar defense at third base. PITCHER OF THE WEEK Paul Gibson played a huge role in helping the Terriers reach the semi finals at the Premier Championships. In game six, a must win game, the Terriers were down 4-1 after three innings. Gibson entered the game in the fourth and proceeded to shut down the Ft. Worth Cats offense, allowing just two hits and no runs over four innings. The Terriers rewarded Gibson for his effort with one run in the sixth and three more in the top of the seventh to take a 5-4 lead. With two men on and two out in the bottom of the seventh, Gibson ended the game with a strikeout, sending the Terriers to the semi finals on Sunday.
