James Smibert Mows Down York
Righthander James Smibert recorded his first win as a Terrier this weekend, a 3-1 decision over York University.

James went five innings, allowed just two hits, two walks and one unearned run. The Terriers (Gold) struck for two runs in the top of the first when Adrian Stellato walked, advanced to third on a Mike Moffatt double and scored on a Nick Dimpfel RBI fielders choice. Moffatt would eventually score on a Nick Wideman RBI sac fly. York scored their only run in the bottom of the first, and were threatening for more, but their mini rally was snuffed by a slick 3-6-3 double play by Garrett Jewel and Mike Moffatt. The game remained close at 2-1 through the next five innings when Smibert gave way to Ty Makarchuk in the sixth and then Andrew Lonsdale in the seventh. Both were outstanding, not allowing a York base runner. The Terriers tacked on an insurance run in the top of the seventh when Evan Hanoun lead the inning off with a single, advanced on a Paul Gibson sac bunt and scored on a clutch RBI single by Adrian Stellato. The SR Terriers Gold face Brock University Saturday night in St Catherines.
