16U Blue Finish Undefeated
After a 5-1 win on Friday night, the Terriers 16U Blue team came back from a 5-0 deficit to tie 5-5 on Sunday morning.
Drew Dickerson delivered a bases clearing triple in the bottom of the third to bring the juniors to within two. Walks to Adam Hanoun and Mitchell Bond along with a single by leadoff hitter Zarley Cina loaded the bases for Dickerson who laced a first pitch fastball to left centre field.
After a scoreless fourth, Cina reached on an error and quickly stole second before Bond brought the Terriers to within one run when he ripped a double to score Cina. Bond would score the game tying run on a passed ball.
Ryan Arcuri pitched a shutout over the final five innings, striking out three which allowed his offence to get back in the game.
In the final game of the weekend, the Terriers took on the scrappy Terriers 15U development team. The back and forth affair saw the two teams trade leads several times before the juniors finally took control.
Dalton Harvey had two hits including a triple in the fourth to go along with a run scored. Milton Palomino and Zarley Cina chipped in with a double each and Drew Valade added a single.
Duncan Jakubowski, Nick Dunnington and Adam Hanoun all pitched in the 8-7 win. Jakubowski and Hanoun each struck out three while Dunnington added two more.
