16U Players Of The Week, News (Terriers Baseball)

Jr. Terriers Gold Player of the Week Austin Gomez went 5 for 9 with a double, HBP, a sac fly and 2 RBI's. Austin also played outstanding defense in the outfield this weekend and finsihed with an outfield assist. Pitcher of the Week Evan Lawrence came into a very tough relief appearance with the bases loaded and none out and got out of the inning on two pitches with an infield pop out and the 2nd pitch induced a 6-4-3 double play.

Evan threw 3 scoreless innings of one hit ball with no walks to keep the game scoreless. Jr. Terriers Blue Player of the Week Zarley Cina had a great weekend at the plate with 4 hits and 2 runs scored including a 2 hit performance on Sunday morning. Pitcher of the Week Nick Dunnington pitched 3 relief innings on Sunday morning holding the 15U Terriers scoreless. Dunnington scattered two hits and one walk keeping his team ahead by a run until the bottom of the fifth when the Juniors tacked on 4 runs to put the game out of reach.
