GRITTY GRILLI LEADS BRUINS Freshman shortstop Robert Grilli has gotten his college career off to a fantastic start. This past week in Henderson Nevada the Salt Lake CC Bruins picked up their ninth victory of the season in extra innings when Robert singled, stole second and eventually came around to score the game winning run. The NJCAA D1 Bruins are ranked 17th in the nation. Grilli leads the team in hits with 12.

He is hitting .364 with 8 RBI and 6 RS. He has walked 8 times. Congratulations to Robert on his efforts so far. In NCAA D1 action... * Catcher Brent Mitchell has a .444 OB%, a 1.000 FLD% and is hitting .286 for the 7-0 USA Jaguars. * Maine Black Bears outfielder Brian Doran was 1-3 with a run scored in a 7-1 win over Stetson, and was also 1-3 in a 5-0 win over Florida A+M. * Bryant University dropped a 5-4 decision to Houston Baptist this past weekend. Alumni outfielder Jordan Mountford was 1-2 with a walk and a run scored. * UBC has wrapped up their eight game tour of California. Freshman second baseman Turner Spears is hitting .300 and has a .462 OB%.
