Luke Willson Drafted By Seahawks

Congratulations to Terrier alumni Luke Willson who was drafted in the 5th round of the NFL Draft this past week by the Seattle Seahawks.. Luke is an unbelievable athlete. After his SR year with the Terriers, he went to Rice University in Texas where he played football and baseball. Luke stands 6'5" and is 251lbs. Willson played first base and hit cleanup for Canada's Junior National team in 2008.

He signed with the Toronto Bluejays in 2011 and went to extended spring training with the club before his senior season at Rice. During Rice's pro day Luke performed very wellHe posted a 40 yd dash time of 4.46 seconds, had a 38 inch vertical jump and broad jumped 10 feet two inchesHe also lifted 225lbs 23 times in the bench pressAll of those totals were among the top-10 in tight ends at the NFL combine. Luke majored in philosophy and political science at Rice with a business minor.
