Srs Win Can-Am Border Battle
The SR Terriers rung up five straight wins this past weekend and came away with the Can- Am tournament championship for the second consecutive year. The final game was a hard fought 2-0 victory over the Empire State Elite. Cal Quantrill went the distance with a one hitter. He struck out nine and did not walk a batter. Jake Osborne and Callum Murphy had clutch back to back doubles in the win. The weekend was highlighted by several outstanding pitching performances by the Terriers.

Friday night TJ Baker had 8 Ks in a one hit gem over the Niagara Eagles. In the third inning of the opener Liam Wilson drew a one out walk, stole second and scored on a Jake Osborne RBI double. The second run came on a bases loaded walk in the sixth by Toby Handley, scoring Osborne. The Eagles scratched for a run in the sixth, but the Terriers held on for a 2-1 win. Nick Dimpfel and Toby Handley lead the offense in game two, a 7-5 victory. Nick had a single, double and two RBIs, while Toby had an RBI double and scored three times. Zach Sloan picked up the win on the mound, and Matt Beaton the save. Game three was a 15-1 blowout over the Grand Island Stars. Justin Carroll got credit for the win in this one. Pat Coughlin, Kyle Thalheimer, Toby Handley, Nick Dimpfel, Jake Osborne and Geoff Seto all had multiple hits in the game. In Sunday mornings semi final lefty Jeff Baggaley came away with the win. The final score was 7-5. Kyle Thalheimer had the big hit, a bases clearing three RBI double. The Terriers play host to Syracuse next weekend.
