Ryan Cuthbert's Grand Slam Paces 16S
Submitted By Dan Thompson on Thursday, March 6, 2014
The 16u Terriers roared out of the gate in their Spring Training opener with a 15-3 victory over Team Ontario. Peter Reichling got the start on the mound going four innings to record the win.

Peter allowed just three hits and struck out four. Right hander Matt Correia struck out the side in the bottom of the fifth, ending the game by mercy rule. Jack Omstead lead the game off with a single through the five- six hole and eventually scored when Brandon Nieva laced a ball to the left center field gap. Trailing 3-1 in the top of the fourth the Terriers rallied for twelve runs on seven hits highlighted by Ryan Cuthbert's towering grand slam to left. Jacob Martins, Brandon Nieva, Willie Hotta, Cam Mahler and Justin Wamboldt also had hits and RBIs in the inning. Cam Bonnano tacked on two more runs in the fifth with an 2 RBI double. The Terriers would count twelve hits in all in the win. In 18U action later in day the Terriers defeated Team Ontario 17s 13-2.
