Junior Terriers Romp Dbacks
Submitted By Dan Thompson on Thursday, May 1, 2014
In their last exhibition game prior to the season opening next weekend the Junior Terriers defeated the Ontario Diamondbacks on Sunday afternoon. After falling behind 1-0 in the first inning, the bats came alive scoring 4 runs in the third inning and 5 runs in the eighth inning. The offensive attack was led by Konar Smith, Mason Falbo, Shane Clarke and Matt Vollmer who all had two hits. Smith and Clarke each tripled while Vollmer added in a double.

Elliott Curtis, Joe Tevlin, Michael Donelle and Sharan Rasan all chipped in with a hit a piece. Starter Christian Lazar threw four innings for the win, allowing two hits, one unearned run while not walking a Diamondback batter. The bullpen shut the door the remainder of the game with strong appearances by Duncan Jakubowkski and Kyle Scobel. The Terriers 17u squad open the season next weekend against the Ontario Athletics.
