Srs Split Day 1 At Premier Nationals
After a tough 5-2 loss in their opener at the Premier Baseball National Championship the SR Terriers bounced back with a 9-0 thumping of the Philadelphia Reds.

Luke Tevlin scored the Terriers first run in the bottom of one after he singled, stole second and crossed on an RBI single to right field by Jake Sims. Austin Gomez made it 2-0 an inning later after he tripled and then scored on a Tevlin ground out. Sam Turcotte battled through four and a third innings, striking out three Reds hitters before giving way to Tyler Valiquette. Tyler pitched out of a fifth inning jam to keep the slim 2-0 lead intact. The Terriers began to pull away in the bottom of the fifth with a three run rally. Catcher Kyle MacDonald got things started with a one out double into the right field corner. Jake Sims was next in and he was hit by a pitch. Both runners advanced on a pass ball, then MacDonald scored on Drew Dickerson's RBI sac fly to right. Nathan Lewko kept the inning alive with a walk, the both he and Sims scored on an Austin Gomez two RBI double to the left center field gap. With a 5-0 lead in the sixth the Terriers put the game away with four more runs. Hitting for himself, Valiquette singled and later scored on Daito Kojima's double. After walks to Tevlin and MacDonald, Nathan Lewko cleared the bases with a blast to left center. Pool play continues on Thursday. The competition will be the Nebraska Sluggers.
