Jacob Sims Shines At Tournament 12
Terriers catcher Jacob Sims hit a two run triple as Ontario Black defeated Alberta Red 6-2 in opening day Tournament 12 action at Rogers Center.
The game was scoreless into the fourth inning when Sims stepped in and clubbed a fastball to the wall in right center field for two RBI and a 2-0 Ontario lead.
" I saw an inside pitch and swung as hard as I could", said Sims, who later scored on an inf
ield single.
Day one of workouts went yesterday and Terriers infielder Elliott Curtis impressed the 25 pro scouts on hand. He was considered by several scouts as one of the top hitters during batting practice.
Terriers right-hander Sam Turcotte will pitch tomorrow for the Futures Team.
