Spring Training Update - Srs Off To Great Start
The SR Terriers opened with a DH vs Calusa Baseball Academy (Miami).

After dropping game one, the Terriers broke out to a great start in game two off a Calusa flame thrower that topped out at 92 mph. Elliott Curtis, Joe Tevlin, Grant Okawa and Jake Sims all had hits to put the Terriers out in front 7-3 after three innings. Calusa chipped away at the lead, and the game eventually ended in a 8-8 tie. Christian Lazar was outstanding on the mound through his three innings of work. The Terriers got their first win the following day with a 15 hit attack over ASA Junior College. Jake Foden got a first inning three run rally going with a walk. He would come around to score on a Drew Dickerson RBI. RHP Tyler Valiquette started on the mound and went three strong innings. He left with the game tied 3-3. In the fifth the Terriers rallied for four runs. Grant Okawa lead it off and crossed on a Jake Sims RBI double. Sims had 4 hits on the day. Konar Smith, Zarley Cina and Elliott Curtis also chipped in with hits. Sharan Rasan was outstanding defensively in the outfield. Pitchers Christian Lazar, Kyle Scobel and Tyler Reihl all did a great job in relief in the 10-5 Terriers victory. * In 16u action Ben Abrams went three innings i‎n the opener. He struck out six and left the game with a 5-1 lead vs the Hawks. Unfortunately the bullpen could not hold the lead and the game ended 6-5. * The 15u Terriers split a DH on Sunday afternoon versus the Galaxy Aces. After dropping game one 6-4, they bounced back and won game two 6-4. Karlis Mickelsteins went four innings, allowed just two runs and got credit for the win. Isaac Kim picked up the save in his three innings of work.
