Submitted By Dan Thompson on Wednesday, June 10, 2015
After cruising to the number one seed in round robin play, the Terriers 18u squad advanced to the Tournament final facing the Bulletproof Prospects. The Terriers scored early and often posting three runs in the first inning and five more in the second on their way to a 14-0 win. The offensive barrage was led by Drew Dickerson with three hits including two doubles. Zarley Cina and Justin Wamboldt also had three hits including a double each.

Connor Smith and Sharan Rasan had two hits apiece while Daito Kojima, Jake Foden and Jacob Sims also chipped in with singles in the 15 hit attack. When skipper Scott Vandevalk was asked about his team’s hitting prowess he commented that, “Our players squared up a lot of balls this weekend and had great approaches at the plate which translated into very positive results.” Starter and winning pitcher Christian Lazar threw five strong innings allowing only two hits while striking out eight Prospects batters. Kyle Scobel closed out the game throwing two shutout innings in relief.
