Jas Rakkar Named To Team Canada
Ontario Terrier Alum Jas Rakkar has been added to the Canadian Men’s Baseball Team that will represent Canada at the 2015 Pan American Games from July 11th to 19th in Ajax, Ontario. Rakkar (RHP), is a member of the Chicago Cubs organization and is currently with their High-A affiliate, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans of the Carolina League. In 21 relief appearances with the Pelicans, he has a 1-1 record, a 2.57 ERA and 10 saves.

The 6'2" 200lb native of North York is in his fourth professional year having pitched 125.2 innings, striking out 126 with a 3.29 ERA. After spending two seasons with the Terriers, the righty was recruited by Stony Brook University (D1) where he was evetually drafted by the Cubs in the 26th round in 2012. The Canadian Men’s National Baseball Team will compete at the Americas Baseball Festival from July 6-8 in Cary, North Carolina before opening the Pan American Games on July 11th against the Dominican Republic at President’s Choice Ajax Pan Am Ballpark.
