2017 Grad Jacob Martins Earns Scholarship To Canisius
Submitted By Dan Thompson on Monday, September 28, 2015
Terriers infielder Jacob Martins will be joining NCAA D I MAAC powerhouse Canisius College to continue his academic and baseball career.

Jacob accepted a scholarship offer from Griffs Head Coach Mike McRae this past week. The entire Terriers organization would like to congratulate him and the rest of the Martins family on this honour. ‎Jacob has been a stellar Terrier for the past three years. Currently a roster player on the 18u team, he is versatile defensively, playing both positions on the left side of the diamond. He also hits in the heart of the order providing a potent blend of power and average. Martins has been going to the Baseball Zone since age eight. Accolades began to come his way as early as age 12 when he was named 100% Best Overall Player at the CNE Peewee tournament.‎ He was also the Home Run winner at the Richmond Green Gold Classic and has been named Athlete of the Year twice at Montessori School. Canisius ‎College was founded in 1870 and is a private institution. The campus is located on over a mile of Buffalo city blocks and includes several NCAA Division I athletic facilities along with various academic and residence buildings. The Golden Griffins are the defending MAAC champions and have won the title two of the past three years. Jacob will be studying Health and Wellness at Canisius.
