Jas Rakkar Named To Roster For Premier 12
Terrier alumni Jas Rakkar has been named to Team Canada's roster for the upcoming inaugural Premier 12 tournament to be held at locations in Taiwan and Japan from November 8-21.

RHP Rakkar spent two years in the Terriers program before acquiring a scholarship to Stony Brook University. While at Stony Brook Jas pitched at the NCAA Super Regional at LSU and ‎the College World Series in Omaha. He was drafted by the Cubs the following year and is currently in their minor league system. ‎Jas will be joined by Terrier alumni coach Paul Quantrill and Rob Ducey. Rob is a friend of the Terrier program and has instructed as a guest coach at several Terrier spring training trips over the years. The Premier 12 event will bring together the top 12 ranked nations in the baseball world according to the WBSC ‎ranking system. Canada is currently ranked 7th in the world. Canada will compete in Group A along with Chinese Taipei, Cuba, Italy, Netherlands and Puerto Rico. They will open the tournament on November 10 versus Cuba. Group B consists of the Dominican Republic, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Venezuela and Team USA. Congratulations Jas, Paul and Rob. Good luck at the Premier 12.
