Friend Of The Program... Bob Elliott Retires
Submitted By Dan Thompson on Thursday, June 2, 2016
The entire Terriers organization would like to congratulate Hall of Fame Sports Writer Bob Elliott on the recent announcement of his retirement. Bob has been a friend and supporter of the Terriers program since 2005. He has promoted our players and coaches in various aspects of the media for over a decade. For that we sincerely thank him. Bob began his sportswriting career in his native Kingston Ontario in 1966.

He later covered the Montreal Expos before moving to Toronto where he became the Sun's baseball beat writer in 1987. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown in 2012, winning the J G Taylor Spink Award‎. It is the highest honor a baseball sportswriter can receive. In 2015 Bob was also inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. Bob is as a wonderful ‎person as he is a writer. Thank you Bob. Enjoy your retirement.
