Sr Terriers To Play Dh At Historic Sanford Stadium
All four Terriers teams are currently engaged in their winter training sessions at The Baseball Zone preparing for their annual upcoming trip to Florida. The Terriers players, coaches and staff will fly to Orlando in early March for spring training in the Melbourne/ Cocoa Beach area.

The teams will practice and compete in multiple games against tough Florida competition and baseball academies from around the US on their own spring break trips. The highlight of the trip will be a SR Terriers DH on Saturday March 11. It will be played at historic Sanford Memorial Stadium against a well rounded Orlando roster that includes several ex pro and collegiate players‎. The Terriers organization plan to make this very special day an annual event, something the younger Terriers can strive toward as they move through the program. Sanford Memorial Stadium is home to Sanford Babe Ruth Baseball and the Sanford River Rats of the Florida Collegiate Summer League. Many great players have passed through Sanford including Jackie Robinson, Willie Mays and Babe Ruth.. It was also once spring training home to the NY Giants and the Boston Braves, certifying it's importance in baseball history. The stadium has full size dugouts, scoreboard, clay warning track, a ten foot wall and water fountains. Extensive renovations were made in 2001, including a picturesque arc design roof and new clubhouses for home and away teams. Complete Spring Training schedules will be posted in mid February.
