Submitted By Dan Thompson on Saturday, August 12, 2017
The SR Terriers are off to a great start at the NTN Tournament of Champions in Niagara Falls NY.

They have completed pool play with a 3 and 1 record and will advance to the semi- finals. The Terriers won this tournament last year. ‎Game one on Friday was a 16-0 blowout over the Fabius Dragons from Syracuse NY. Pierce Montgomery got the start on the mound, struck out eight on route to the victory by the mercy rule. The Terriers jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Dylan Whittaker was hit by a pitch, stole second and third and eventually scored on a George Tsiflik‎iotis two RBI single up the middle. The Terriers had five hits in the inning and would never look back. Dylan Johnson also picked up two RBI in the inning when he scorched a ball to the gap. Christian Forgione, Nick Parsons, Ryan O'Halloran, Sawan Bhatnagar, along with Dylan all had a multi hit game and picked up RBIs. After dropping game two by a 6-3 score to the Niagara Timberwolves the Terriers bounced back with a pair of wins on Saturday. Game one's 6-2 win on Saturday was over the Upper Deck Baseball Academy. Right-hander Evan Elliott went four and two thirds then was relieved by Sebastian Santos who finished up on the mound going two and a third. Nolan Gallo led the offense with two hits‎, an RBI and a run scored. Dylan Johnson was 1-3 with two runs scored while Nick Parsons and Ryan O'Halloran both chipped in with hits. Nick also had an RBI. Game four was a 17-0 drubbing of the Cuyuga Heat. The semi-final goes Sunday morning in Niagara Falls.
