16U Terriers Romp In Spring Training Opener
After a day of practices, games got underway at Baseball City in St. Petersburg Florida on Friday. The 16U Terriers were up against Faith Baptist JV Red Sox from Georgia. The Sox ‎were no match for the well prepared Terriers that came out of the gate swinging. Matt Ward led the way with three hits in what would end up as a 14-2 victory. The offense was nicely spread around throughout the entire Terriers lineup in this one sided game. Jack Iannuzzi was 2-3 with 2 RBI.

John Filice was 2-2 with 2 RBI. Austin Gomm had a triple and three RBI while Ben Baker smacked a double ‎and also had 3 RBI. Righthander Liam Carey was awarded with the opening start and did not disappoint as he cruised through four innings of shut-out ball. The 18U Terriers opened their spring trip with a game against the Faith Baptist Varsity team. The game was tight, a 1-1 tie into the bottom of the sixth before the Red Sox rallied and put the Terriers away. Pierce Montgomery and Evan Harrison were impressive on the mound, both firing two innings and not allowing‎ an earned run. Games continue Saturday with all four teams in action.
