15U Terriers Dominate In Season Opener
Submitted By Dan Thompson on Saturday, May 5, 2018
The PBLO season kicked off today at Kings Collegiate in Oakville where the 15u Terriers were hosting the 14u London Badgers. The Terrier offense struck early and often and would go on to an eventual 11-1 victory. In the bottom of the first lead-off hitter Ethan Cane got a four run rally going when he ripped a single to left, then advanced to third on a Badger error. Ethan Magloughlin and Tyson Gomm followed with walks to load the bases for clean up hitter Julian Russell.

Julian stepped in and laced a two strike pitch to the right center field gap for a three RBI triple and an early 3-0 lead. Cameron Pollard was next ,and he pushed the score to 4-0 with an RBI ground out, scoring Russell. The bottom of the second brought more Terrier hits and runs. With two out, Kawshik Murali‎ pounded a double to the gap then advanced on a bloop single by Andrius Jurenas. That set the stage for Ethan Magloughlin's laser two RBI double to right. 6-0 Terriers. The Terriers tacked on another run in the third off the bat of Cameron Pollard. Cameron smacked a single through the right side, scoring Julian Russell who had walked and stole second earlier in the inning. Three more Terriers crossed in the bottom of the fourth when Josh Cote, Kawshik Murali and Andrius Jurenas scored. Tyson Gomm had a single and Ethan Cane had two RBIs to count for the three runs that made the score 10-0. Markus Stepanoff had the start on the mound in this one. He went three innings, striking out six along the way. He was relieved by Connor Brearley in the fourth. Connor struck out three Badger hitters on route to the win.
